Job Duties
March: Daily feeding Make sure all cows and calves eat and drink every day Tag and vaccinate calves daily Graft calves onto available cows as appropriate Repairs and maintenance as needed to equipment, fences, and buildings Snow-plowing as necessary
April May: Continue above until green grass arrive
July-October assistance during cow calving season. Duties include sorting cows, aiding with delivery of births, cleaning stalls and chute, and feeding and watering animals daily
June August: Branding Pasture moves as necessary Repairs and maintenance as needed to equipment, fences, and buildings Repair and Maintenance on ditches, head gates, and pipe repairs and maintenance as needed to equipment, fences, and buildings
September - November: Repairs and maintenance to equipment, fences, buildings, roads, water system Wean replacement heifers feed daily through the winter and spring Pregnancy test cows, vaccinate, pour, sort December February: As weather and feed dictate make sure all cows and calves eat and drink every day Repairs and maintenance as needed to equipment, fences
