Diversified crop; Grapes
Workers may, by hand or equipment plant grape vines.
Workers may stake grape vines & tie them for support.
Workers may clip and prune vines as needed & haul away trimmings from fields.
Workers may apply water & fertilizers to fields as needed.
Workers may pick mature grapes and load containers onto trucks or wagons.
Workers may help in the processing of mature grapes.
Workers may clean and prepare mature fruits for processing or shipping.
Workers may clean fields of old or dead vines, and prepare for next planting.
Workers may plant & replace vines for next crop season.
Workers may prepare ground & fields for next crop season.
Other Related Duties:
Workers may chop weeds from between plants with a hoe.
Workers may remove tops and suckers from plants and apply side dressing.
This could include workers preparing barns, preparing land for planting, draining fields, maintenance of tools and equipment, and other work that is directly related to crop and activities for which the worker was hired. Such work will be offered when climate or crop conditions preclude working in the primary activities stated above. Alternative work may only be required if the first week wage guarantee listed in 20 CFR 653.501 is invoked.
