Participate in all aspects of livestock production, including herding and sorting livestock; managing the range; calving; feeding livestock; monitoring health of livestock and administering vaccines and medicines; guarding and protecting livestock from predators. Drive truck, trailers, and tractor; maintain fences and enclosures; maintain livestock records; horsemanship and feeding and caring for horses. Must be on-call up to 24 hours a day, seven days per week and will spend the majority of the workdays in the herding and production of livestock. Must have at least six months of experience as a herdsman and provide references to verify such experience. Must be proficient in English. All tools, supplies, including a cell phone, provided at no charge.
Employer will contact the herdsman on a daily basis via cell phone to monitor his well being. Employer will provide worker with the following items, tools, and supplies: large tractor, smaller tractor, ranch feed truck with cake feeder, shovels, hand tools, battery chargers, calf pullers and equipment for calving, weed eater, air compressor, cattle chute, four wheeler, welder, cutting torch, cattle corrals, saddles, ropes, bridles, fencing equipment, small Toyota truck, carts and wheelbarrows.
